‘Stranger Things’ recently came to an end in spectacular fashion with an epic finale that was as frenetic as it was emotional. However, its main stars are continuing their respective film careers, with Millie Bobby Brown being one of the most famous and successful names from the Netflix series. But there are other actors from the popular Duffer Brothers series who already have big plans, especially with Marvel. The superhero company signed two ‘Stranger Things’ cast members some time ago: David Harbour and Joseph Quinn, to play Red Guardian and the Human Torch of the Fantastic Four, respectively. Two characters who will face each other at the end of this year in the multiversal event ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

‘Stranger Things’ in the new ‘Avengers’ movie

Thanks to the success of ‘Stranger Things’ over the past decade, many of its main actors and actresses have landed other prominent roles in other productions, and Marvel Studios is no stranger to current phenomena. That’s why they didn’t hesitate to sign both David Harbour and Joseph Quinn to play two prominent characters in the MCU. The former, who played Jim Hopper on Netflix, is Alexei Shostakov, also known as Red Guardian, in both ‘Black Widow’ (2021) and ‘Thunderbolts*’ (2025), a former soldier of the Soviet Armed Forces and a founding member of the New Avengers who was injected with a variant of the Super Soldier Serum.

For his part, Joseph Quinn was signed by Marvel Studios after his brief stint on the Netflix series as Eddie Munson, to become Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch of the MCU’s Fantastic Four, alongside Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. So far, Quinn has only appeared once as Johnny Storm in the MCU as part of the main cast of ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’.

Both are part of the extensive, already confirmed cast of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which was confirmed months ago with the presentation video of all the actors’ and actresses’ chairs. Given the large number of characters that will appear, we don’t know if the two ‘Stranger Things’ stars will share scenes in the new ‘Avengers’ film, although they will have a significant role in their respective groups, since Red Guardian is a prominent member of the New Avengers, while the Fantastic Four will surely have a direct confrontation with Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.

Will Sadie Sink from ‘Stranger Things’ also be in it?

While both David Harbour and Joseph Quinn have already been confirmed for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, there is another famous name from ‘Stranger Things’ who has recently signed on with Marvel Studios: Sadie Sink, Max, in the Netflix series. Sadie Sink will appear in the upcoming film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’, which will hit theaters this summer, in a role that is still unknown. While we don’t yet know the role and fate of her character, it’s not unreasonable to think that Sadie Sink could be the third ‘Stranger Things’ star to also appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, although for now it seems unlikely unless her enigmatic role has something to do with the multiverse.
